SUNNYVALE, California – April 21, 2008 (MARKET WIRE) – Leadis Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: LDIS), an analog and mixed-signal semiconductor developer of color display drivers, power management ICs, LED drivers, and audio ICs for mobile consumer electronic devices, today announced volume production of the LDS285, a 16M color QVGA TFT LCD Driver IC with PowerLiteTM DBC technology. Leadis also announced it has shipped over 1 million units of the LDS285 to a top tier cell phone manufacturer. The LDS285 is the first production LCD Driver to incorporate Leadis’ PowerLiteTM Dynamic Backlighting Control (DBC), a feature that greatly reduces power consumption of the display module – enabling longer battery life for all battery powered portable devices. It carries unique features such as PowerLiteTM DBC (Dynamic Backlight Control) for power savings on the LED backlighting unit of up to 50%. It also provides true 16M colors with 256 gray levels which includes 1.84M-bit of display RAM (240x320x24bit), 4 preset gamma sets and an adjustable VCOM generator. Included in the LDS285 are additional display features that enable customers to provide value-added, differentiating display features further enhancing the visual communication experience for the end user.
